Safety and Security are key pillars of The Walt Disney Company and the Global Security team continuously strives to improve and advance the security, safety, and emergency preparedness of the Company through a number of efforts, including employee awareness, communications, outreach, and training opportunities. The Strategic Security Operations (SSO) Team is responsible for driving and managing the overarching Global Security strategy, implementing key initiatives with departmental and Company-wide impact, and aligning all security programs and teams around the department mission. The SSO Team also serves in a strategic advisory capacity to the Chief Security Officer, including looking for new opportunities for efficiencies and effectiveness through improved processes, structure, and technologies.

The SSO Team is responsible for managing Community Watch (CW), Disney’s employee security awareness program, and advising on all communications matters for the Global Security department. Security awareness is a global initiative implemented across all regions, lines of business, and affiliated companies. Through internal communications and engaging outreach tactics, the Strategic Communications team strives to communicate key security awareness messages through diverse mediums – from articles to videos to events – in order to educate employees on how to better protect themselves and the Company from a variety of threats.


The Director, Strategic Security Operations (SSO) has a twofold responsibility. First, the Director serves as a strategic and trusted advisor to the Chief Security Officer (CSO). The Director brings a level of insight and perspective about the opportunities for greater efficiency and efficacy across Global Security; is a proactive problem-solver, collaboratively and inclusively bringing people together to reach thoughtful solutions; looks to address barriers/challenges/issues at the lowest levels and in a timely manner; and represents and advances the voice of the CSO and the mission of Global Security in every engagement. Second, the Director leads the SSO Team, which is responsible for Community Watch (CW), Disney’s employee security awareness program; all internal Global Security communications; facilitating and managing the overarching Global Security strategy, including the No. 1 Strategic Priority of Enhance Culture, Inclusion & Engagement; and establishing a Governance & Audit program. As such, the Director is responsible for the direction and development of their team, and serves as the primary Global Security interlocutor on various projects and processes including the GS budget.
  • Acts as strategic advisor to the CSO, including identifying opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness through processes, structure and technology.
  • Leads the development of the GS budget, in partnership with Finance, specifically the five-year and annual operating plans.
  • Develops and ddrives Culture, Inclusion & Engagement strategic efforts across Global Security, by serving as the CSO’s lead entity for the Enhance Culture, Diversity & Engagement Strategic Commitment, serving as the strategic and tactical organizing unit to ensure progress against these three pillars.
  • Builds strong relationships across the Global Security (GS) leadership team, organizing and aligning strategic priorities and driving the ongoing strategic planning process for the CSO and GS leadership team.
  • LeadsLeads a team in advancing employee awareness of relevant security risks and mitigation measures through communications, training, and collaboration with Global Security teams and who oversees all Global Security communications, including the delivery and scaling of the Global Security App.
  • Promotes the strategic efforts underway, such as the establishment of a visible and value-added GS Governance & Audit Program, including the delivery and rollout of the WorldApp tool in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Partners effectively and frequently with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Finance, HR, Legal, Management Audit, and other key partners within The Walt Disney Company, serving as a GS resource and connector on relevant issues.


  • 10+ years of relevant business experience (strategic planning, finance, communications, etc.)
  • 5+ years leading people
  • Excellent personal communication skills, including an ability to interface with and influence a broad range of people at different levels of seniority
  • Experienced professional with the ability to manage complex and challenging situations under tight deadlines
  • Strong strategic envisioning, planning & execution skills, including an ability to use data to enhance and improve current processes
  • Exceptional writing, presentation and representational skills
  • Track record of successfully leading people & change, as well as developing managers to the next level of performance and achievement
  • Proven track record of driving and delivering long-term, high-visibility projects
  • Exceptional judgment


  • Experience in a security profession
  • Prior experiences as a Chief of Staff or Chief Strategist
  • Experience in large scale project management
  • Knowledge of Disney’s annual financial & strategic planning processes
  • Global experience, including living/working outside of the US


4-Year Degree: Any field of study
