Walt Disney Animation Studios has an exciting opportunity for Layout Finaling Artists to join the team at our Vancouver, BC studio. A Final Layout Artist is responsible for the integrity of their shot files and for adjusting the file’s camera, sets and props (as needed), before publishing the file for consumption by downstream departments. A Layout Finaling Artist is also responsible for checking continuity prior to delivering to Sweatbox. This is a regular, full time, staff position.
Hybrid and Remote opportunities for our Vancouver Studio are specific to remote work within the province of British Columbia.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of the Layout process
Must demonstrate the ability to animate and polish camera animation
Must have and demonstrate strong cinematic training and knowledge
Must have an understanding of animation and animation pipeline
Must have solid Maya skills and training (proprietary tools will be taught)
Linux OS experience is recommended
Excellent communication skills- written and oral
Basic understanding of modeling, texturing and lighting
Ability to track and stay on top of detailed information
Solid understanding of production priorities
Ability to problem solve and share solutions
Willingness to work with others and take direction from show Supervisors
Experience working with and editing text files is a plus
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience
