Be Part of the Story as the Strategic Operations Manager – Disney Store Business Operations! This role will support the development and execution of initiatives that enhance operational performance, streamline processes, and drive alignment across the global and regional teams within The Disney Store. Acting as both a strategic thought partner and a hands-on operator, this role will help translate business needs into actionable plans, support change initiatives, and ensure consistent documentation, communication, and follow-through.
The Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Merchandising & Buying, Site Merchandising and Operations, Marketing, Product Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and Technology to support the transformation and growth of the business. This role will partner directly with the Senior Manager to help build and maintain an integrated view of operational excellence, evolution, and best practices across the organization. The Manager will need to possess the flexibility to work with a wide range of organizational cultures, processes, and approaches. This role blends operations management skills with project/program management, people management, and collaboration skills.
This role reports to the Sr Manager, New Business Operations.
This is a Full Time role.
What You Will Do:
Process & Operational Excellence Support
Support the creation, documentation, and optimization of cross-functional processes and workflows.
Assist with maintaining the operational excellence roadmap and tracking initiatives, milestones, and dependencies.
Conduct research and gather input to identify best practices and process improvement opportunities.
Create clear process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
Assist in preparing regular updates and executive-level presentations for leadership.
Project & Change Management
Lead and coordinate project plans, timelines, and meetings to ensure initiatives stay on track.
Support change implementation efforts, including stakeholder communication and training.
Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as needed to the Senior Manager.
Help develop contingency plans and process change recommendations
Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Facilitate alignment across global and regional partners by coordinating touchpoints, capturing feedback, and following up on action items.
Serve as a consistent point of contact for partners, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
Partner with key stakeholders to ensure the right teams are engaged early and often in key initiatives.
Develop strong partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Thought Partnership & Innovation
Act as a sounding board to the Senior Manager, providing insights and recommendations.
Conduct external research to identify industry best practices and innovation opportunities.
Help evaluate tools, systems, and capabilities that could drive efficiency and scalability.
Operational & Administrative Support
Prepare presentations, meeting materials, summaries, and status reports.
Manage documentation and version control for operational processes.
Support ad hoc analysis, special projects, and day-to-day operational tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
6+ years of experience in operations, project/program management, process improvement, or strategy, in a consumer products, brand development, product development, manufacturing, and/or online retail organization, eCommerce experience a plus
Demonstrated analysis/assessment capabilities; able to take ambiguous situations and add structure and clarity for the team
Strong problem-solving skills; able to translate data into insights.
Experience working cross-functionally in complex or matrixed environments.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and shift focus as needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation building skills.
Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, and adaptability with new tools, Airtable a plus!
Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Collaborative and relationship-oriented.
Curious, proactive, and solution-focused.
Able to balance independent execution with strong partnership.
Comfortable with ambiguity and change.
Able to juggle, pivot, and maintain a sense of humor under pressure
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $102,500 -$140,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
