ABOUT DIRECT TO CONSUMER 

Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer Product & Tech Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the Analytics Experimentation Center of Excellence (COE). Scale the product and technological development of streaming services under the Disney brand by collaborating with Product, Programming, Design, Advertising, Commerce & Growth, and many key organizations to measure performance through experimentation. The COE partners across the business to turn data into information, information into insights and insights into key business decisions that steer the strategic direction of the company. The right person for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves problem-solving and is a good communicator. You will design innovative analytic approaches to test hypotheses, extract actionable insights by identifying patterns in structured and unstructured data, and develop recommendations to drive business performance. You will be instrumental in leading the use of analytics as a critical value driver across our organization. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support the analysis and recommendations of A/B and multivariate experiments on Disney+ and Hulu by collecting data, analyzing results, and reporting findings 

  • Build multi-functional reporting that provides critical support to the operations and decision-making of the organization through experimentation – including self-service analytics, tracking key initiatives, and measuring program performance 

  • Advance the capabilities of the business with high-impact analysis and data visualizations, collaborate in the design of diagnostic solutions, and deliver outstanding insights and products to drive business strategy across partner teams 

  • Use internal and external analytics, data visualization tools, SQL, and scripting languages to access and analyze multivariate data to understand subscriber behaviors/value, and make an impact across the business 

  • Provide analytics expertise to key business partners regarding data & analytics questions, communicating insights to domain experts and executives alike 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Unbridled curiosity, high intellectual and analytical horsepower, and a passionate pursuit of analytics driven insights and business outcomes 

  • Thorough understanding of statistical methods and topics, such as hypothesis testing, power functions, type I & II errors, central limit theorem, t-tests, regression analysis 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, MIS or related field 

  • 5+ years of experience as an analyst in a data and analytics domain with excellent SQL, Python, or R skills for complex querying, advanced analysis, performance optimization, and working with data at scale 

  • Experience working with python computational and visualization libraries like pandas, numpy, scikit-learn etc. (or analogous R libraries) 

  • Demonstrated data visualization skills with tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Matplotlib, Plotly, etc. 

  • Experience delivering end-to-end analytics projects: taking them from vague requirements, to an impactful story, accessible across diverse audiences, and ultimately to a clear business outcome 

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with teammates, business partners, and technical colleagues 

  • Ability to work independently with outstanding written and oral communication skills 

  • Strong motivation and a growth mindset 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Excited about learning and coaching skill development in others 

  • Delivers compelling narratives with strong presentation skills 

  • Ability to identify and appropriately call out issues to leadership 

  • Consulting background, MBA, or other multi-industry experience 

  • Sense of humor

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $114,900 to $154,100, and in New York, NY is $120,300 to $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
