Manager, Rights Management, Streaming Services

Comprised of The Walt Disney’s international business units and various direct-to-consumer streaming services, Platform Distribution aligns technology, media distribution and advertising sales into a single business segment to create and deliver personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world.

This person will support and manage team members focused on Rights Management for our Disney Streaming Services partners, including Disney Streaming Services domestically and globally.  This individual will help manage the relationships between these streaming services along with strategy and administrative teams which support these services. 

Responsibilities:

Provide Management Support:

• Key member of the Rights Management Steaming Services team, which is responsible for all owned, produced, acquired or licensed titles by the Walt Disney Company (excluding Nat Geo and ESPN) for inclusion on Disney Streaming Services

• Lead various projects that are required by the department in order to maintain data constancy/integrity

• Assist in preparation of communications of preliminary and confirmed rights information and changes to rights information to streaming and other relevant teams

Project Management of Disney Streaming Services:

• Manage internal and external relationships between the Rights Management team and Disney Streaming Services

• Perform contract interpretation on acquisition agreements and manage communication with local legal teams

• Collaborate with internal teams as needed (Content Sales, Technical Servicing, Finance/Accounting, Production, Business Affairs, Legal, Sales, Deal Management, etc.)

• Initial point of contact for rights related questions from domestic and international teams

• Compile high volumes of material data sets in Excel, and map, migrate and validate data sets in Rightsline

• Liaise with global teams to confirm rights, verify start dates and other general contract administration on Disney+ and STAR Originals and Library titles

• Track and verify all offers are in place in time for scheduling

Required:

• 5+ years of relevant experience

• Experience planning, executing, monitoring, and completing projects as a Project Manager

• Comfortable working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint in Windows PC

• Advanced understanding of underlying distribution and music rights

• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, tasks, and queries at any given time across multiple functional disciplines

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Solid verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment and display professionalism and confidence in challenging situations

• Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills and techniques

• Proven experience utilizing problem solving, decision making and analytical skills

• Well versed in interpreting contractual language and analyzing agreements

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $102,500 - $140,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
