This position is responsible for the multiplatform programming strategy/content planning related to FX, FXX, FXM, Freeform and TWDC Entertainment Streaming FAST Channels. The primary platforms of focus for this role include the linear networks mentioned above, branded non-linear platforms & TWDC Entertainment FAST Channels on both 3P and owned streaming platforms. The role also supports curation of continuous streaming channels offered within Disney’s DTC services.
The Programming Strategy and Content Planning department is responsible for:
Maximizing the enterprise value of our content lifecycles through strategic content planning and collaborative windowing across all platforms.
Supporting delivery of key revenue targets across Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales, Consumer Products and International affiliated networks + key metrics across DTC platforms.
Partnering with content studios to set audience strategy, identify content pipeline needs and creative opportunities across multiple editorial supply lines.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Full oversight and accountability for linear & non-linear planning, strategy & related viewership performance of the FX suite of networks and Freeform. This also includes helping to drive multi-platform audience reach and growth opportunities with a specific focus on the contribution from non-linear platforms. Heavy emphasis on selecting and scheduling acquired movies & series. Partners with head of FX Originals Strategy & Planning.
Full oversight and accountability for planning, strategy & related viewership performance of TWDC entertainment FAST channels working in partnership with Content Sales, Marketing and Programming leads on specific brands (i.e. Nat Geo).
Leveraging insights and analysis to inform audience strategy & identify creative opportunities & leads cross-functional teams/divisional teams to identify and elevate programming priorities.
Working closely with the Business Operations team and Finance leads to support creation of budget strategy and ensure that content planning is within budget parameters.
Leading large team across multiple functional groups.
Basic Qualifications:
Significant experience with linear/multiplatform content strategy and planning (and related audience strategy).
Significant experience managing robust teams with the ability to lead (both direct and indirect reports) to deliver above expectations.
In-depth understanding of movies and acquired series scheduling + FAST business.
In-depth understanding of the media business and the value chain that drives content windowing across various platforms.
Advanced data literacy – ability to synthesize raw data and form actionable strategies to drive performance and create new viewership opportunities.
Passion and insight into The Walt Disney Company segments, brands and franchises, the elements that define them, and expertise to build further audience engagement.
Strategic, creative, and entrepreneurial mindset.
Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills; ability to execute against multiple, high-priority projects, with a keen attention to detail.

Streaming experience a plus.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $206,200 to $283,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
