About the Role & Program
Join us for the opportunity to intern with the National Geographic Production Management team! We are responsible for the Unscripted, Feature Doc and Natural History slate at National Geographic Content, providing premium series and specials across our company’s many platforms like Disney+ and the Nat Geo linear channels.
Our team of Line Producers (LP), Production Managers (PM), Unit Managers (UM), and admin staff liaise with strategic partners across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC), National Geographic and third-party production companies to ensure all productions adhere to TWDC best practices and deliver on time, on budget and to Nat Geo Specifications.
We manage the day-to-day production logistics partnering with the Development and Creative Teams and Executives to achieve highest production value and editorial quality. We oversee production operations and best practices through the production life cycle—from green light to premiere on all specials and series.
The approximate dates of this internship are May 2025 and goes up through August 2025. If selected for this internship, you will report directly to the Director, Production Management.
What You Will Do
You will assist in the following areas:
Attend several production management and production meetings for Unscripted, Feature Doc and Natural History specials and series.
Shadow an LP or PM as they review budget and schedule materials to prepare for Greenlight.
Shadow an LP or PM on a special or series that is already in production to gain insight into their day-to-day management of the production.
Shadow a UM on a special or series that is already in production to gain insight into their day-to-day management of deliverables.
Assist Production Management team on projects as needed including various production tracker documents, production databases and reports.
Liaise with the hiring manger to update a production management presentation that details production managements overarching role.
Initiating and presenting a department enhancing project that is tailored to interests of the intern and the goals of Production Management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Analytical and organized
Ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgement
Proficient in the use of MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in National Geographic and its mission
Interest in unscripted and documentary stories
Proficient in InDesign or Photoshop
Education
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or related major preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization

Fully available from Monday through Thursday, 9am to 6pm EST for the duration of the internship, 32 hours each week

Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
