Marine Claims Assistant

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a proven individual to report to the Manager of Marine Claims Support who will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Guest Claims and/or Crew Claims Departments, as well as participate in department projects and initiatives in an efficient and positive manner. This role requires confidentiality and is highly collaborative with Claims Representatives, Claims leadership, and other internal and external partners.

Daily responsibilities may include:

• Provide administrative support for the Crew Claims and Guest Claims departments, including claim set up, timely task completion, and providing accurate information to cast members, guests, legal representatives, and other vendors. 
• Coordinate with Claims Adjuster to make initial notification to claimant in a prompt and timely manner.
• Handle financials including timely processing of payments for bills, settlements, crew reimbursement, etc.
• Conversion of physical mail to electronic documents and categorize documents appropriately.
• Monitoring of shared mailboxes for guest or cast communication and take appropriate action.
• Process travel requests for Crew Members requiring repatriation or travel outside of their home country for medical care, at the guidance of Claims Adjuster.
• Completing accurate incident intake data.
• Must exhibit outstanding customer service skills with an understanding of the importance of brand management and confidentiality.
• Willingness to provide outstanding service by participating in telephone coverage for Marine Claims team, including direct communication with Guests.
• Follow operational guidelines and ensure quality assurance and a keen attention to detail.
• Participate in projects that help advance department goals and strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to professionally handle confidential information with an understanding of the importance of brand awareness.
• Demonstrate strong relationship building skills, including the ability to work with all levels of cast members.
• Capability to work under deadline pressures and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Effective communicator. Excellent oral/written communication and presentation, time management, and organizational skills.
• Self-starter who excels in a team environment and who challenges the status quo by continually searching for opportunities to improve internal processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multiple computer programs and in a paperless claims environment.
• Confirmed ability to solve problems creatively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Florida 520 or 620 All-Lines Adjusters’ License with the State of Florida in good standing
• Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with Business Objects or related reporting software
• Understanding of business specific systems such as SeaWare, Seacare, Fidelio, DCLIMS, SAP, and CARS
• Bilingual
• Understanding of Disney Cruise Line Operations
