Finance Manager-WDI Project Data Strategy

This Finance Manager role will be part of the Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Finance team, in support of data strategy development and sustainment.

This position will lead finance transformation initiatives within WDI and requires being a thought partner of choice and an integral part of the WDI Finance organization by providing sound data analyses, robust project reporting, and identifying automation opportunities and efficiencies for WDI project teams and portfolio leadership to leverage.  Key elements of this role include:      

• Partner closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy for WDI
• Actively sustain all project data strategy efforts to maintain relevancy as reliable tools for the broader WDI organization
• Proactively identifying issues and offering solution-oriented recommendations to influence key decisions
• Communicating clear and concise thoughts and information to partners and leaders in a persuasive and timely manner
• Building strong working relationships with internal and external business partners to develop a deep understanding of the business
• Contributing to a learning environment, challenging continuous improvement, sharing best practices, and participating in team building and business learning opportunities.

The Finance Manager will develop relationships and manage partnerships with finance, controls and operations teams across WDI in support of all data strategy efforts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Technology Partners to create and/or maintain data architecture and governance of Snowflake database
• Development of dashboards using Snowflake, Tableau/PowerBI, and Sharepoint to provide regular reporting on all project activities, portfolio trends and budget adjustments, collaborating with partners to yield the best possible tools
• Streamline WDI Finance 360 Dashboards and look for opportunities to optimize or automate
• Leverage Snowflake database to provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for the business
• Build SQL scripts that include complex queries for large databases
• Leverage holistic project reporting to identify key issues/opportunities
• Continue to identify new data requirements necessary data points, and enhance data procurement capture capabilities (e.g., new data pipelines, RPA’s) to further the overall WDI Finance data strategy
• Identify AI opportunities that address business challenges and needs
• Connect with the broader Finance & WDI organizations (e.g., Finance Transformation, Capital Planning, Tax, Business Transformation, Estimating, Sourcing) on business related issues in addition to maintaining strong relationships
• Influence and partner with project teams to understand project team needs, develop a deep understanding of the business, and to have a point of view regarding key business issues
• Support data strategy through broad based data analysis of project trends and provide recommendations / insights
• Lead all sustainment efforts of the WDI Finance 360 dashboards with assistance from the WDI Project Finance Consolidations team
• Prioritize and adapt through a fast paced, ever-changing project-oriented culture
• Communicate effectively with various audiences (executive, manager, analyst) in both written and verbal forms
• Demonstrate an attention to detail, while maintaining the ability to see the bigger picture

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of finance, business intelligence, or data analytics background, or business development experience, including experience with cloud deployments in AWS and Snowflake database and/or enterprise SQL database platforms
• Demonstrated advanced user of data and visualization software (e.g. Snowflake, Tableau/PowerBI, and Microsoft Suite) with the ability to quickly learn and develop easy to use solutions
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities and perform job responsibilities accurately while working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work proactively, independently and as a strategic partner in a team environment
• Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and continuous process improvement by developing easy to use tools
• Proficient project management skills: ability to prioritize and lead projects of varying complexity and length
• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to effectively partner with diverse colleagues from various business areas and at all levels of the organization  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with quantitative analysis and financial modeling including proficiency in acquiring, organizing, and analyzing large amounts of complex data
• Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations and communication to audiences of all levels, articulately and with full command of the topic
• Ability to provide alternate recommendations and persuade partners’ point of view

Required Education

• BA required - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred, such as Data Science, Software Engineering, Data Analysis, Computer Science, FinTech or equivalent technical background
